A medical records analyst with a background in nursing has developed software to aid in the review of medical records. The software simplifies the process of reviewing medical records with a medical database that may be accessed from the medical chronology. It's called Legal Med Ware.
The database includes: medical terms, symptoms, diseases and differential diagnoses, medical symbols, abbreviations and acronyms, lab values, alcohol and drug toxicology, medication indications, contraindications and side effects. Medical records may be scanned into a word processor and cut and pasted into the Medical Chronology software screen. You may then collect and print all of the record entries for a specific time period or physician.
Legal Med Ware features include search capabilities by word or subject; sort in numerical ascending or descending order, medical spell check and case/file security.
Consultants for this program are Steve Heninger of Heninger, Burge and Vargo, Mike Beard of Starnes & Atchinson and Dr. Kimberly Fagan of HealthSouth.
